Abstract

Master thesis focus on the literary inheritance in Ayn Rand's epic novel Atlas Shrugged (1957). Reviewing the novel in a historical context, the core of the thesis focus on looking at the story independent of everything readers merit to Objectivist philosophy. The author's claim she wrote heroic poetry is at the core of analyse. In truth the subject is to evaluate the 'literariness' of the novel. This is a question, unlike literary criticism what makes a text popular, on rather what makes the novel part of heroic poetry?
