Abstract

This thesis examines how does the Uniform Domain Name Resolution Policy, in addition to other dispute resolution mechanisms, offer protection for domain names and trademarks. The paper will analyze the legal framework for resolving domain name disputes at a national and an international level. The main focus of this paper will be given to Uniform Domain Name Resolution Policy. The purpose of this paper is to critically examine whether the Uniform Domain Name Resolution Policy is offering adequate protection for trademarks and domain names on internet. It will examine the domain name protection under trademark laws and international policies, evaluating their weaknesses, providing critical analysis and where necessary asserting strengths.
