[...] The major part of this thesis is concerned with the preparation and analysis of chromium trioxide oxy-starch, oxy-amylose and oxy-amylopectin. The latter part of the thesis describes a f a i r l y successful attempt to locate the positions of some of the carbonyl groups in the oxystarch by an application of the Kiliani synthesis.
