Abstract

"The purpose of this paper is to give a description of the most important mining operations of the Arizona Copper Company at Morenci, Arizona, during the years 1911, 1912 and 1913. This work was planned in the engineering department by the mine superintendent, Mr. John Kiddie, while the author was employed in his office as chief mine surveyor from November 1911 to September 1913. As in other mining districts of the southwest, the rich contact and pocket, copper deposits in the Clifton-Morenci district have been nearly exhausted, necessitating the development and extraction of the low-grade porphyry deposits" – Introduction, Page 1.
