Abstract

"The Kentucky fluor-spar district, embracing Crittenden, Livingston and Caldwell counties in western Kentucky, is the only section in America, with the exception of southern Illinois, where fluor-spar is mined, ground, and shipped in quantity. The fluor-spar is also associated with rich surprises in zinc and lead ores. Before proceeding to a study of the district in question, it may be well to give a brief description of the mineral itself" – p. [1].
