In this thesis there has been no attempt made to reach new conclusions. In fact, the subject would scarcely admit of that, since the emotions we experience have all been felt before. The sole purpose has been to analyze more or less successfully some of the processes by which these emotions are produced and thus get more closely in touch with the artist mind of Schiller, and the better to study and appreciate the literary production of the dramatic master from the artist's point of view.
