Abstract

It would be easy to accept the idea held by many people that nothing can be done· about blighted areas; but, after a study of the problem, I have found that there are many things which can be done to correct this situation. There are many and varied ways to accomplish the desired result. The problem is one of many facets and there is no quick "cure-all". It is a matter of the entire cormnunity working efficiently together in matters of city zoning, city planning, architectural and site planning, financing, construction and social policies. An effective urban renewal policy cannot be realized without all of the agencies working together in harmony. As one can determine from the following treatise, wise general planning is the one fundamental of rehabilitation.
