Abstract

The PhD thesis examines sufficientarianism as a doctrine of distributive justice in theory and practice. In particular, there is a focus on the doctrine’s theoretical foundations in contrast to egalitarianism and prioritarianism and its application in the environment sphere (such as eco-sufficiency and energy policy). An introductory chapter provides the necessary context and background, summarizes the five Articles' main claims and explains their interrelationship. The Articles are identified with the Roman numerals I to V and follow in this order.
