This study focused on the perceptions and opinions of teachers regarding theeffectiveness of online education. Five teachers, all familiar with online educationagreed to participate in this study. This researcher interviewed five teachers from anonline learning program in Southern California. The findings showed thatparticipants agreed that daily one-on-one communication, flexibility and personalizedlearning plans were paramount to student success. Finally, the results of this studysuggested that positive, daily communication between students and teachers wascentral to student success in the online learning environment.Advisors/Committee Members: Borba, John (advisor).
