Abstracts

In this article, we give a certain class of one-parameter families of Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces of a projective space over a finite field that includes the Dwork family and investigate the relationship of these families with hypergeometric series and with hypergeometric function over finite fields. The former is related via a formula for unit-root, and the latter is related via a factorization of the zeta function.
