[en] PATIENT-BUDDY-BUILD: CUSTOMIZED MOBILE MONITORING FORPATIENTS WITH CHRONIC DISEASES

[pt] Este trabalho consiste do desenvolvimento de umaferramenta para a gerao de aplicativos mveis, que possibilita ummonitoramento customizado, para o acompanhamento distncia depacientes com doenas crnicas. A customizao ocorre a partir deparmetros e descries formais, tais como: preferncias dopaciente, tipo da doena crnica, processo de acompanhamentodesejado pelo seu mdico, medicao prescrita e dados sobre ocontexto (o entorno) do paciente, estes ltimos obtidos desensores. Com base nestes dados, o sistema ir determinar quaisinformaes so mais relevantes para serem adquiridas do pacienteatravs de questionrios ou de sensores disponveis no dispositivomvel. Informaes relevantes so informaes que melhor ajudam aidentificar possveis alteraes no processo de monitoramento de umpaciente. Estas informaes sero enviadas pelo dispositivo mvel,juntamente com os dados dos sensores, para o mdico responsvel. Oprocesso de acompanhamento mdico e a natureza da doena crnicadefinir ao o conjunto de informaes que sero coletadas. importante ressaltar que o objetivo no realizar diagnsticos,mas sim, prover informaes atualizadas aos mdicos sobre os seupacientes, possibilitando assim, realizar um acompanhamentopreventivo distncia. [en] This thesis consists of the development of a toolfor generating mobile applications that enables a customized formof remote monitoring of patients with chronic diseases. Thecustomization is based on parameters and formal descriptions ofpatient preferences, the type of chronic disease, monitoringprocedure required by the doctor, prescribed medication andinformation about the context (i.e. environment) of the patient,where the later is to be obtained from sensors. Bases on this data,the system will determine which information are more relevant to beacquired from the patient through questionnaires and sensorsembedded or connected to the smart phone. Relevant information areinformation that best helps to identify possible changes in themonitoring process of a patient. This set of information will besent by the mobile application to the responsible physician. Themedical treatment and the kind of chronic disease will define theset of information to be collected. It should be stressed that thegoal is not to support automatic diagnosis, but only to providemeans for physicians to obtain updated information about theirpatients, so as to allow remote monitoring ofpatients.Advisors/Committee Members: EDWARD HERMANN HAEUSLER.
