This project was undertaken as a fourth year design course in line with the requirements of the Bachelor of Engineering course...The project was sponsored by Mr. D. Haas of Haas Steel and Engineering, Parkhurst. Haas, design adn build screw conveyors which are sold or hired around Central Queensland. Haas are particularly concerned about the performance of Ammonium Nitrate in Screw Conveyors... The purpose of this project was to produce design curves for the enclosed screw conveyors constructed by HAAS Steel and Engineering. It was intended to investigate screw conveyor theory, and test various conveyors, in order to produce design curves incorporating such variables as conveying capacity, poser consumption, and conveying angle.
