Abstract

In recent years group work agencies and adult education bodies have become increasingly concerned about their inability to attract young adults between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five into their programs. Donald Bogue reports, in a study of the population of the United States, that while the numbers of young adults in the general population have decreased by five percent (5%), the numbers attending community centers have decreased by more than fifty percent (50%).
