The flow of fibre suspensions has interested many workers, both from a theoretical and practical viewpoint. Pulp flow in a paper mill, transportation of coal in oil, and wheat in water are examples of the importance of two-phase flow in which solids are suspended in liquids. Since new applications of solid-liquid flow will also continue to occur, a basic understanding of the flow properties of suspensions is important. [...]
