Abstract

The purpose of this project was to develop a handbook for new students entering Disability Support Program and Services (DSPS) at San Joaquin Delta College (SJDC). There is an immediate need for a handbook, being that the latest handbook for new students which was produced was thirteen years ago and outdated. The author reviewed the related literature, which consisted of laws and regulations, journal articles, interviews, various websites and San Joaquin Delta College pamphlets/brochures. This handbook is intended to be used by new students to DSPS at SJDC and will provide new students to the program with disabilities with the needed information about DSPS, and information to be successful during their academic career at SJDC.
