Using the ALICE analysis framework, this thesis studies a novel rest frame jet identification technique as well as the photo-nuclear production of the Phi meson in Ultra Peripheral Collisions (UPCs) at ALICE. A unique jet identification technique was developed which substantially reduces the number of non-heavy flavor jets in a jet sample. Coherently produced Phi mesons are not observed at ALICE while incoherently produced Phi mesons are observed with a cross section in the range between 1900 and 30600 ??barns in 2011 Pb-Pb collision data collected during Run 1 at the LHC.
