Works cited: pages 193-196 "This thesis addresses the challenges I faced as an actor playing a character in a webseries who is fundamentally different from myself, and who represents subcultures which are underrepresented in American mainstream media. In order to truthfully portray Roens asexuality and substance abuse, I used vocal techniques and externally focused performance methodologies to embody the character I discovered through research and inside-out performance techniques."
