Abstract

The negatively charged nitrogen vacancy (NV) defectcenter in diamond is a promising solid-state qubit due to itsexceptional spin and optical properties. In this thesis, we develophigh-yield, efficient spin-photon interfaces in diamond. Inparticular, we demonstrate a process that produces dielecticreflectors and photonic crystal nanobeam cavities directly on thesurface of bulk diamond. Our results pave the way towards ascalable network of entangled quantum registers based on spinqubits in diamond.Advisors/Committee Members: Dirk R. Englund (advisor).
