Abstract: The development of digital technologies brings about frequent changes in the individual and in society. In Education, the use of intuitive programming languages, for example, enables students and teachers to become creators of technologies and not just consumers. Among the available digital technologies, Artificial Intelligence techniques and applications also stand out, and can be identified both to assist educational management and to contribute to educational processes. Thus, the goal of this research is to present, based on the relationships between Interaction Design and Artificial Intelligence, understandings about intuitive programming environments used in Mathematics educational processes. This research adopts methodological aspects of a qualitative research and uses Educational Design Research as a methodology that locates and directs the reader in different paths present in this navigation route, such as the areas of Mathematics Education, Computer Science and Interaction Design. These paths contemplate reflections on the use of technologies in Mathematics Education, Artificial Intelligence applied to Education, intuitive programming, intuitive systems, and relations between the mental and conceptual models elaborated by users and developers of interactive products. The paths followed in this research consider that an intuitive system can reveal itself through the use of Artificial Intelligence techniques which favor the constant updating of mental models by the user. Therefore, this research defends the thesis that there is a relationship between intuitive programming and Artificial Intelligence which can support the use of digital technologies in Mathematics educational processes. This relationship emerges from the connections between Interaction Design and Artificial Intelligence and is identified through the use of interface metaphors and feedback in intuitive programming environments. Moreover, the existence of a reciprocal molding between thought and technology is also highlighted, that is, a two-way influence between user and software, from the use of Artificial Intelligence techniques and applications in these environments.
