Análise e avaliação de desempenho de alunos num sistema de eLearning

The evolution of technology has led to the appearance of some gaps in several sectors. In the area of education, one of the problematic issues pointed out by teachers is the lack of more specific and detailed data on the students’ learning process, besides the visualisation of the final assessment results. Due to the scarcity of information about the process their students follow to achieve a given grade, teachers have some difficulty in acting effectively and continuously in this process of learning and teaching their students. This is due to the fact that teachers have no way of identifying what knowledge students have already acquired and what they still need to acquire in order to improve. Such circumstance may contribute to the students’ failure. Being this an age characterized by the evolution of technology, in which many problems are solved with it, it is usual to point out as a possible solution to these problems the adaptation of the education sector to new technologies, since in that way it would be possible to fill some of the gaps using tools already developed. One of the tools that emerged to solve the various problems associated with the monitoring and evaluation of student performance were the eLearning systems, in particular its aspect of results analysis through specialized dashboards, since they allow its realization practically in real time. The importance of restructuring the educational sector, through the insertion of new technological tools, is, therefore, unavoidable. The needs of students and teachers alike are changing and evolving, and to cope with this we need versatile and flexible tools like analytics systems and their dashboards.
