A rede federal de educação profissional e a cultura escolar do IFSP-BRT: uma construção institucional equitativa?: The federal professional education network and the IFSP-BRT school culture: an equitable institutional construction?

The general aim of this research is to comprehend school culture that is forged at Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de São Paulo, campus of Barretos (IFSP-BRT) in order to support historical, social and pedagogical demands, which it intends to overcome, as emanated both in the documentation of its creation and in that issued subsequently to guide its operation. The conceptual structure about school culture allows us to perceive and describe the processes by which agents that produce school practices – teachers, students and technical staff – produce devices – legislation, rules, curricula – and contribute to maintenance and regulation of educational law. Our methodological design is guided by bibliographic and documental research. Documentation data were treated as elements of school culture, in order to understand tensions present in it – latent or manifest in different circumstances. As a result, we assume hypothesis that in the IF, by allocating 50% of their vacancies to courses in the Integrated Technical Education modality to High School, they consolidate a place designed for human preparation that moving from destination mediated by strict preparation for the job market to the working world. On the one hand, we recognize in the institution some evidence of a conflict marked by Brazilian educational dualism, since its foundation as a nation. The invisibility of this structure, possibly, remains and is interwoven in the daily life of school culture. On the other hand, we identified principles of school justice instilled in the content of the creation of the Federal Institutes, promoting an effort to understand the notions that led to educational duality in an attempt to overcome them.
