Abstract

Minecraft Education Edition: a didactic way to enhance the agility of solving mathematical problems This work was developed with the objective of building, applying and analyzing a learning tool designed from the Minecraft Education Edition free version platform, which would enhance the agility of solving mathematical problems with rational numbers. This didactic unit was designed with three key names; the Numerical World, the Geometric World and the Random World. Each world contained three mathematical problems related to the basic concepts of order, fraction, area, volume, ratio and percentages, where the student had the facility to manipulate the video game overcoming different levels problem by problem. Under these characteristics of the video game, the student had the possibility of using previous concepts in his development to interact with the world to be solved and in this sense, try to do it in the shortest possible time. It is important to clarify that, to finish each world, all three problems had to be solved, since each answer led you to find the next problem within the same world. In this way, it was found that this video game in its educational version with personalized processes in the area of mathematics applied to eighth and ninth grade students, determined a 55% advance in improving the scores and development times of the proposed mathematical problems. in a mathematical proof. In this sense, it is concluded that the educational processes using computer-supported tools infer in obtaining better learning results in the area of mathematics, using in this case, the Minecraft Education Edition video game.
