Teaching conics and proposals for approaching the theme in high school

Despite the importance of teaching Mathematics and technological development, studies show that, in general, the study of Conics occurs superficially and with decorated formulas in Basic Education, which makes it difficult for students to learn. In order to offer different practices from those we experience in Basic Education, some works and dissertations on the subject are presented and three approaches are selected to build the Conics using manipulable materials, such as ruler and compass. From this, three illustrative videos are produced based on the selected constructions in order to inspire and facilitate the understanding of teachers interested in applying them in the classroom. We also produced three Lesson Plans on the Ellipse, Hyperbole and Parabola, using folding, which can assist in the introduction of the content, in order to enable the understanding of conics as a geometric locus, in order to lead to the understanding of their algebraic form. In addition, we developed an application in Software R, which presents, from the general formula, the respective Conic. Keywords: Conics. Teaching. R software.
