Protocolo de acolhimento e acompanhamento mediado pelo brincar: contribuições da psicologia histórico-cultural na pediatria hospitalar

In this Dissertation, under the Cultural-Historical Psychology approach, anchored by Vigotski, we had as a general objective to elaborate a protocol to shelter and monitor kids in a hospitalization setting, mediated by playing, in a way to instrumentalize professional psychologists working in the Pediatrics section in the General Hospital in Vitoria da Conquista. The research design is qualitative, with an exploratory and descriptive nature, using Research-Intervention as a specific research category. The thematic axis involved working on hospital psychology, as well as the process of child development mediated by play under the Cultural-Historical approach, was investigated. We considered that a child non-hospitalized, strictly speaking, is inserted in a social environment in which they experience relationships that enhance their development and learning and that, as a consequence of hospitalization, can be harmed related to distancing from their social links, in a way that, through playing and talking, it will give visibility to the kid, considering, also, that playing will also improve the kid’s wellness through the hospitalization process and will improve their mental health, as is desired while studying Health Psychology. Therefore, as a way to promote social contributions and places of impact, tending to the needs of the hospital, and promotion scientific and technical qualification, through the Research Line “Human Development and Educative Practices in Health” of the Professional Masters in Health Psychology (UFBA - IMS/CAT), that deepens the studies about human development throughout the life cycle, it was developed a standardized protocol and a guide for pediatric attendance. The referred protocol shows the relevance of playing and was made available for professional psychologists of the hospital. We hope that this product can be a mechanism used by professionals in future moments, guaranteeing the establishment of bonds and a better relation to execute the necessary care actions for the patients at Pediatry.
