Unveiling the Imposter Phenomenon: Women in Public Administration & Leadership

While previous research has investigated gender disparities in leadership, limited studies have focused on the relationship between the imposter phenomenon and public sector leadership roles. This research seeks to answer the following research question: How does the imposter phenomenon affect women in the public sector in reaching leadership positions? The researcher will conduct a descriptive study using a qualitative methodological approach. Semi-structured interviews will be conducted with 30 female participants from a large public sector organization. This study aims to analyze women's experiences in the public sector and how the imposter phenomenon has impacted their ability to attain leadership positions. The goal is to develop supporting policies and procedures to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that promotes women's advancement and success in leadership roles.
