This thesis presents a new method of analyzing Gaussian distributions as found in photopeaks in scintillation spectrometry. The technique provides an improvement in accuracy and convenience for obtaining line widths and positions over previously available methods. Some aspects of energy resolution of scintillation counters are investigated, and a semi-graphical method is described for resolving lines that overlap too much to be easily analyzed by other techniques.
